Old Man of Storr

Posted in General, Landscape, Travel at 12:00 pm by Warren Williams

The second trip up The Storr, in just over 12 hours was worthwhile. Leaving in darkness, the light gradually came through timing sunrise for the time I reached the Old Man of Storr rock formations. The strong winds moved the clouds and light around every minute.

Snow and ice still can be seen in the early morning

    Thanks again Julz,
As usual I lugged my heavy tripod up the mountain. Also comes in handy for any thugs I may meet along the way.. But not likely in Scotland, just around London 😉

Lugged a tripod? They’re pretty light arent they? mines small and fits easily into a bag. But then again you probably have something outrageous 😉

    Something like this:
    http://www.devoncamera.co.uk/index.cfm/photographic/Products.Details/product_id/1849/subject/manfrotto_055xprob_pro_tripod_black
Plus a ball head for mounting the camera:

I can’t use a small one now – need to support a heavy SLR
