London Eye

Posted in Landscape, Travel at 9:30 pm by Warren Williams

The recent fine weather continued, and took the opportunity to catch a train into London on this Friday night, to venture further than Tower Bridge. I’ve been eager to visit both London Eye and Big Ben for the past few weeks. The sites didn’t disappoint, especially with the fine detail observed on Big Ben. I’ll head back to London Eye another time to capture views across London, but this time my feet remained firmly on the ground.

Kent Clay Pigeon Shooting

Posted in People, Sport, Travel at 2:00 pm by Warren Williams

I was invited along to do some photography for Hawley Clay Shooting Ground to update their photos, and create a new shooting challenge 😉

Set amongst Kentish countryside, alongside the M25 – Colourful fields were a fine backdrop.

Saint Margaret’s at Cliffe – Full Moon

Posted in Astro, Landscape, Travel at 10:00 pm by Warren Williams

Revisited Saint Margaret’s, as it seemed to offer the best views around the coast of Kent. After just missing sunset, had to settle for light from the full moon.

En route from Canterbury to another visit to Saint Margaret’s at Cliffe, the sun was setting fast. I had left too late, and not allowed enough time to travel the tight country lanes, short cutting through the Kentish countryside. As the sun flared up, I decided to pull over, just 5min away from Saint Margaret’s to get these:

Samphire Hoe

Posted in Landscape, Travel at 5:00 pm by Warren Williams

Samphire Hoe, Kent, is the special place, created by reclaiming land at the base of Shakespeare Cliff. The soil used, was from the Channel Tunnel, so will hold place in history for many years to come. Featuring a mile long sea wall, fishing, walkways and incredible views, definitely worth a visit when heading South-West out of Dover.

The overcast weather to England’s largest free air show, didn’t deter people from turning up in their masses.

Hadrian’s Wall

Posted in General, Landscape, Travel at 1:01 pm by Warren Williams

Hadrian’s Wall, Northern England was built by the Roman Emperor, Hadrian, in AD 122.

These shots were taken in the area, with some of the ruins – Hadrian’s Wall is thicker than the wall seen here

Off the beaten track, behind Hadrian’s Wall, I came across some cows nearby to the country road.

Loch Lomond, Scotland

Posted in Landscape, Travel at 9:00 am by Warren Williams

Loch Lomond, just 45min North of Glasgow, Scotland, is a very popular lake to visit. Calm days can be rewarded with glassy water, but due to the weather, and some wind, it wasn’t the most ideal conditions.

Loch Lubnaig, Scotland

Posted in Landscape, People, Travel at 8:00 pm by Warren Williams

As the road unwinds between Callendar and Loch Lomond, the striking beauty of Loch Lubnaig captures your eye. Despite the miserable weather at the time, there were many camped up, on the pebbled shore.
