A1GP Final Round – Brands Hatch

Posted in Motorsport, People, Sport at 8:01 pm by Warren Williams

With the scheduled last round of Mexico being cancelled due to the current swine flu pandemic, Brands Hatch was brought up as the final round, with three teams still in the running for the title. However Ireland’s Adam Carroll had other feelings, by storming through to clinching both wins from pole position, and the title for Team Ireland.

Here’s some highlights from the weekend, with link through to the gallery of 150 shots, featuring A1GP action, grid girls and support races.

Primrose Hill – London Photography Meetup

Posted in General, Landscape, People at 10:00 pm by Warren Williams

Primrose Hill was the starting scene for the 8th London Photography meetup group, that I was hosting for a walk and shoot around London. After meeting at Chalk Farm, and ascending Primrose Hill (not exactly that high!), we wandered through  neighbouring Regent’s Park before venturing into the pub for a drink and meal. Later in the evening, a few who remained practiced some off camera flash lighting in Leake Street, with the known Waterloo Graffiti, before watching the sun go down behind Westminster.

My good fellow photography friend, Matt Peters was married today to his lovely new wife, Jemma. The ceremony and reception were held at the amazing Alexander House, in the West Sussex countryside, under the warm spring sun.

Bells Beach – Rip Curl Surf Champs

Posted in Landscape, People, Sport at 3:51 pm by Warren Williams

Beyond Geelong to the start of the beautiful Great Ocean Road in Victoria, took a drive out to see the Rip Curl World Surf Championships. Unfortunately upon arriving, realised it was a “bye” day, due to lack of surf in the morning – however many pros and locals were still out there making the most of the good conditions.

Very steep beach, mixed with plenty of sea foam from the ferocity of the waves makes Bells Beach very unique

Phillip Island

Posted in General, People, Travel at 6:26 pm by Warren Williams

Phillip Island is another popular tourist destination featuring rugged coastlines, an international racing circuit and wildlife such as penguins and seals at the western end – The Nobbies.

Karekare Farewell

Posted in Landscape, People, Travel at 9:30 pm by Warren Williams

On my last chance to visit a local West coast beach, decided to head out to Karekare, as I had yet to visit this summer. Took along my youngest sister Candace, before jetting off to Australia and London.

Goat Island/Pakiri/Omaha

Posted in Landscape, People, Travel at 7:30 pm by Warren Williams

Spent a hot afternoon snorkelling with the fishes at the Goat Island marine reserve, an hour North of Auckland. One day I’ll consider an underwater camera, to capture the beauty below the water’s surface.

With beautiful weather arriving for the Auckland Anniversary weekend, made the two hour trip to the East coast of the Coromandel Peninsula. Specifically to see Cathedral Cove, and the neighbouring Hahei Beach.
