Phuket to Phi Phi Ferry

Posted in People, Travel at 10:00 am by Warren Williams

After staying a night in Phuket, took the early morning ferry to Phi Phi Don Island, (Ton Sai Bay). Thanks to my friend Karuna, saved the 350 Baht fare and sat in the air conditioned bridge with the captain.

Thai AirAsia A320

Posted in Aviation at 10:00 pm by Warren Williams

After arriving in Bangkok on 6th February decided not go on photography trips as I did in June last year, but to go shopping instead. Took a night flight from Bangkok to Phuket with AirAsia, flying one of the new Airbus A320 (HS-ABB)

Landscapes Revisited

Posted in General, Landscape, Travel at 7:21 pm by Warren Williams

Decided to reprocess some of my favourites from Thailand and Cambodia – as the UK weather at the moment hasn’t been too great lately. Due to travel through Thailand for five nights during early February, on my return trip to NZ.

Hastings Pier Sunrise

Posted in General, Landscape, Travel at 10:00 am by Warren Williams

Made a last minute decision on Friday to head down to Hastings, as saw an opening in the weather which over the past week had been rather miserable, with rain, snow and sleet. Despite the clear skies, and what looks like warmth in the photos below, the temperature started below zero, with everything frozen.

Walk of the Thames

Posted in Landscape, People, Travel at 6:30 pm by Warren Williams

Met up with a fellow photographer and friend, Darren, and took a walk along the Thames South Bank between Westminster and Tower Bridge, before returning for night shots around the embankment opposite London Eye. Plenty of other people out doing the picturesque walk, and came across many buskers.

Twilight over London

Posted in General, Landscape, Travel at 8:31 pm by Warren Williams

The modern Golden Jubilee Bridges, linking the West End with the South Bank have created a great walkway along London’s most breath-taking scenery. Encompassing the Thames, London Eye and the Houses of Parliament. A waxing crescent moon was also present high above London Eye.

Camden town is famous for its busy markets, bringing together many cultures.

London Lights

The light pollution over London becomes more apparent on a cloudy night. Another walk around London Eye, and Westminster Bridge to get some photos, before the “tripod police” put a stop to that.

Danger! Ice Kills

Posted in Animals, Landscape, Travel at 9:00 am by Warren Williams

As temperatures continue to fall, the landscape around clearly shows winter has arrived. The local lake at Danson Park had almost completely frozen over, with just a puddle of water for a few of the remaining birds.

Spent the weekend sightseeing London, via a 48 hour double decker bus pass, London Dungeons, Tower of London, London Museum and Trafalgar Square.

Frozen Danson Lake

Posted in Animals, Landscape, Travel at 9:00 am by Warren Williams

An icy blast reminded us how close we are to winter. With temperatures plummeting down to -5°C, it was inevitable that the lake at Danson Park would start to freeze over.

Old Man of Storr

Posted in General, Landscape, Travel at 12:00 pm by Warren Williams

The second trip up The Storr, in just over 12 hours was worthwhile. Leaving in darkness, the light gradually came through timing sunrise for the time I reached the Old Man of Storr rock formations. The strong winds moved the clouds and light around every minute.

Snow and ice still can be seen in the early morning
