Summer
With returning back to New Zealand, I’ve been able to catch up with family – including my gorgeous cousin, Summer.

Bokeh is the photographic term for the background blur of photos. Just gave myself a new Christmas present, in the form of Canon’s pristine 85 f1.2 L lens.

My final evening in Melbourne was spent down on the warm beach of St Kilda with my sisters.
The London Bridge (now officially London Arch) is just a few kilometres west of Port Campbell. Arriving well into dusk, only managed a few shots.
The Great Ocean Road offers some of Australia’s best scenic coastline drives. During the weekend, spent much of it driving along this beautiful 243km stretch of road between Torquay and Warrnambool.

With clear blue skies, and warm temperatures, decided to head out to a well known beach of St Kilda. The Western beach was packed with kite surfers in the strong sea breeze.
With some miserable weather lately, headed out into London for one last shoot before heading back to NZ for a few months via Melbourne.
Jessica, about to venture off to Turkey and Iran for several weeks
Met some photographer friends, Andy and Mitesh for a walk around London whilst practicing some off-camera flash (commonly referred to as Strobist)

Samantha and her daughter Lilly-Mai, made excellent subjects in the ever changing conditions at Danson Park. The leaves started to fall just a couple of weeks back, creating a perfect opportunity to head out for some fun shots.

We had our 5th London Photography Meetup (facebook group), based around the Drift 08 – first annual art exhibition based on the Thames. Around 30 fellow photographers came, armed with tripods to capture the art between Blackfriars bridge and Tower bridge.
Millennium Bridge and St Pauls
Leake Street, which runs underneath Waterloo station, used to be a taxi rank for the past ten years, until Waterloo International was closed when Eurostar moved to St Pancras Station. Earlier in 2008, a graffiti show was unveiled, featuring work of Banksy and ever since, it has remained legal to paint as you wish. Spent most of the afternoon here with fellow photographers, before heading to Blackfriars bridge for the big meetup.

Next door to the Bath Abbey, is the Roman Bath museum – with remnants of the ancient baths that once stood there.
The streets of Notting Hill, North London fill with a million revellers every year, marking the second largest street carnival in the world. The carnival route covers three miles of Notting Hill streets, show casing wonderful costumes from mostly the Caribbean.
Met up with a couple of friends from New Zealand, one of whom had just arrived here a week ago – and decided to show her around some of my favourite places.

Brick Lane is often referred to as Banglatown, being the heart of the Bangladeshi community. Featuring markets, street sellers, and plenty of good food, it was a great location for another facebook group photography meetup.
